PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Schoeps Limited Edition 75 Year Anniversary Microphone Setgives you the opportunity to own an exclusive piece of microphone history. The company celebrate an epic milestone in 2023 - its 75th anniversary. To commemorate the occasion Schoeps is offering this limited edition, one-of-a-kind microphone set. The set consists of a V4 studio microphone and a stereo pair of the modular Colette CMC 6 mics with MK 4 cardioid capsules all in a special black finish with the vintage original Schoeps logo.
The V4 is a studio vocal microphone providing warm, clear sonic character with smoothly rolled-off diffuse-field response. It unites the outstanding technical characteristics typical with a timeless, classic design. It features classic looks hearkening back to their first tube mic, the CM 51/3, the new V4 U is meant as a vocal microphone of the highest quality, and also excels at piano and acoustic instruments, as well as louder sources like guitar cabs and percussion.
A pair of CMC 6 mic bodies and MK 4 cardioid capsules make up a cardioid small diaphragm condenser stereo set. The CMC 6 is designed for standard 48- and 12-Volt phantom powering. Its circuitry recognizes the supply voltage and adjusts itself automatically. Its performance characteristics remain essentially the same either way; mainly, the difference is that the current drawn at 12 Volts is greater than at 48 Volts. However, the 12-Volt mode consumes less power and might be preferred for battery-powered recording. The MK 4 capsule features a transparent sound character and excellent attenuation of rear-incident sound, it reproduces sound sources very naturally. This has given the MK 4 a reputation as a universal "problem solver" even in difficult recording situations.
The set also includes the SGV stand clamp and two SG 20 stand adapters all packaged in a black engraved steel box with a greeting from the company’s owner and son of its founder, Uli Schoeps.
Schoeps Mikrofone is a manufacturer in the great Austrian-German tradition. Founded in 1948 by Dr. Karl Schoeps, it remains a family-owned company still residing in its hometown of Karlsruhe, Germany. There, a small and dedicated team of employees manufacture all of their microphones in-house, maintaining the highest technical standards, and competing with much larger companies based on the excellence and innovation of their products.
