Another classic EQ re-creation from Pultec! Launched originally in 1956, the EQH-2 was functionally similar to the venerable EQP-1A, differing most notably in the shape of its peak boost curves and its output stage. Pultec spec'd the EQH-2 with the same Class A stage as the MEQ-5 EQ.
Features:
- Single-channel tube equalizer
- Same Class A output stage as the popular MEQ-5 equalizer
- Similar to the iconic EQP-1A equalizer, but with a more transparent character

- Thank Pultec for decades of amazing recordings
- A time-proven solution for your mix's crucial midrange
- Precise stepped controls for accurate recall
Thank Pultec for decades of amazing recordings
Magical tools revered for their capability to improve the sound of audio simply by passing signal through them, Pultec equalizers, such as the MEQM-5, are the stuff of legend. You've heard them on countless hits. Rare vintage units cost a pretty penny - if you can find one in good working order. So naturally, there have been many hardware and software "re-creations" over the years. Well, now you can grace your recordings with the sweet sound of the MEQM-5: a genuine made-in-America Pultec EQ.
A time-proven solution for your mix's crucial midrange
Long story short, a detailed, vibrant, rich midrange is what separates world-class mixes from the rest. It's where most of the sonic excitement of your mix lives, and the MEQM-5 gives you two bands of boost and one attenuation band to shape it just right. The sound is amazing, and with a little experimentation, you'll be enhancing vocal intelligibility and beefing up guitars with incredibly musical results.
Precise stepped controls for accurate recall
When you're mastering with outboard gear, it's crucial to be able to accurately recall settings. The MEQM-5 mastering equalizer sports 21-position stepped switches for its boost/attenuation controls. The tapers have been engineered to give you a maximum of 10dB of boost/cut, with .5dB step increments. So when you need to recall exact settings, the MEQM-5 makes it easy and precise.
Features:
- 1-channel, 3-band midrange equalizer built exactly like the original, legendary Pultec units
- Combines the vintage character of original Pultecs with the reliability of modern design
- Incredibly low noise floor for a pure sound
- 21-position stepped switches make setting recall easy
- Fantastic EQ for guitars, vocals, woodwinds, and other midrange-rich material
- Separate boost and cut bands provide surprising creative potential

Precise stepped controls for accurate recall
When you're mastering with outboard gear, it's crucial to be able to accurately recall settings. The EQM-1S3 mastering equalizer sports 21-position stepped switches for its boost/attenuation controls. The tapers have been engineered to give you a maximum of 10dB of boost/cut, with .5dB step increments. So when you need to recall exact settings, the EQM-1S3 makes it easy and precise.
More selectable frequencies than the Pultec EQM-1A3
What's different on the EQM-1S3 compared to its brother, the EQM-1A3? There are more selectable frequencies on the high-band of the EQM-1S3, for starters. The equalization curves are also a bit different, and the low-band of the EQM-1S3 sports different frequencies than its brethren, giving you a different flavor while maintaining all that Pultec mojo.
Features:
- Single-channel, two-band equalizer built exactly like the original, legendary Pultec units
- Combines the vintage character of original Pultecs with the reliability of modern design
- Incredibly low noise floor for a pure sound
- 21-position stepped switches make setting recall easy
- Bandwidth control lets you decide how wide a range you're sculpting
- Separate boost and cut controls provide some extra creative potential

Walk into any world-class control room and you'll see one or more classic tube Pultecs - it's as true now as it was in 1978! The Pultec EQP-1A two-band equalizer, the modern-day re-creation of the legendary tube EQ, can give your tracks the massive bass, silky air, and addictive warmth that made the original a studio standard. Pulse Techniques is back, hand-crafting their classic EQs without compromise or "enhancement" to the original designs. New Pultecs like the EQP-1A contain only original-spec components and are dead ringers for their vintage ancestors. It may sound like magic, but it's time-tested and proven - the Pultec EQP-1A equalizer can make any track sound better.
- Boost, cut, or both - it all sounds great
- Imbue your tracks with the stuff of legend
- Thank Pultec for decades of amazing recordings
- Boost, cut, or both - it all sounds great
Take a look at the Pultec EQP-1A and you'll see it's not designed like your typical equalizer. The two-band design basically gives you flexible low shelving, along with broad-bandwidth midrange peak control. Because the boost and attenuate controls work independently you can use an old trick to add weight to the bass region while also notching a bit above the cutoff point, by boosting and attenuating at the same time (try it on kick drum and you'll never look back). On the high-frequency side, you can set separate ranges for the boost and attenuation. Said another way, you can boost at 12kHz and cut at 5k, adding "air" to a track without increasing presence.
Fortify your rack with "True Blue"
You've heard them on countless hits. The 3-rackspace blue Pultec EQP-1A was originally made from 1961 until 1971, when it was replaced by the 2U silver-faced EQP-1A3. While the EQP-1A3 was functionally identical to the EQP-1A, many engineers and studio owners swear by the original 3U "true-blue" unit. This inspired design places a tube-driven, push-pull gain-makeup stage after the EQ section to eliminate the gain insertion losses typical of passive filters. Intended for broad program EQ, the EQP-1A gives you four low boost/cut frequencies, three high-cut frequencies, and your choice of seven HF boost points, along with a bandwidth control for shaping high-boost Q.

The Pultec EQP-1A3-SS 2-band equalizer, the modern-day version of the legendary EQP-1A equalizer, can give your tracks the massive bass, silky highs, and addictive warmth that made the original a studio standard. Instead of the original tube-based makeup gain stage, the EQP-1A-SS uses the revered API 2520 op-amp. New Pultecs like the EQP-1A3-SS contain only original-spec components and are dead ringers for their vintage ancestors. It may sound like magic but it's been time-tested and proven - the Pultec EQP-1A3-SS equalizer can make any track sound better.

API 2520 op-amp for a different flavor of Pultec EQ
While every other aspect is the same as original Pultecs, the EQP-1A3-SS-SS employs the legendary API 2520 op-amp for its makeup gain stage instead of the traditional tubes. Many would say this gives the EQP-1A3-SS-SS a less-colored sound than the tube-based version, while retaining the exceptional musicality and richness Pultec EQs are loved for.

Magical tools revered for their ability to improve the sound of audio simply by passing signal through them, Pultec equalizers like the EQP-1S are the stuff of legend. You've heard them on countless hits. Rare vintage units cost a pretty penny - if you can find one in good working order. So naturally, there have been many hardware and software re-creations over the years. Well now you can grace your recordings with the sweet sound of the EQP-1S: a genuine, made-in-America Pultec EQ.

More selectable frequencies than the Pultec EQP-1A3
What's different on the EQP-1S (and EQP-1S3), as compared with the original Pultec design, the EQP-1A3? Well, there are more selectable frequencies on the high band of the EQP-1S, which ranges up to 12kHz (instead of 16k). In general, the equalization curves are also a bit different, and Pultec added shelving 5 and 10kHz settings. And the low band of the EQP-1S sports different frequencies than the EQP-1A3, giving you a slightly different flavor and a bit more flexibility, while maintaining that coveted Pultec sonic signature.

The Pultec EQP-500X brings the sound of the classic 19” 2U rack mountable EQP-1A3-SS and EQP-153-SS into your 500 series rack, offering the best features from both units. The op-amp is based on the classic API 2520, which is a much different sound from the vacuum tube models, but is preferred by many engineers due to their consistency and crystal clear tone.
The low band offers boost and attenuation of 30 Hz, 40 Hz, 70 Hz and 100 Hz. The bandwidth control will shape the EQ response of the higher frequencies from sharp to broad.
The 500X has a unique group of frequencies to choose from in the higher band, offering peak boost of 1 kHz, 2 kHz, 3 kHz, 4 kHz, 5 kHz, 8 kHz, 10 kHz, 12 kHz and 16 kHz. On the classic shelving Pultec, you would lose the 16 kHz peak boost, which is a favorite to many engineers on the classic EQP-1a. To combine the best of both worlds, the 500X dropped the 6 kHz peak boost and added back the 16kHz band. You can also choose between two shelving boost frequencies of 5 kHz and 10 kHz.
Attenuation of higher frequencies are independent from the selected boosted bands and include options for 5 kHz, 10 kHz and 20 kHz.
