INTERSTELLAR is a stereo ADC using Crane Song's Quantum, sub Pico second clocking technology.  Included in Interstellar is dsp emulation for Triode and Pentode tubes, Tape emulation, dithering to 24 or 16 bits and word clock outputs.  The Word Clock outputs allow Interstellar to function as a master clock

When used as an USB interface, there is a SPDIF output that can be used to connect to a DAC.
Making Interstellar a USB bi directional interface.  In the USB mode the computer will set the sample rate and thus the sample rate of the Word Clock outputs.
The AES, SPDIF and Optical outputs are active and can be used at the same time as the USB connection.  The level of the dsp functions is set by front panel controls

When the USB connection is not in use, The clock rate is set by the front panel controls

SYREN is a classic sounding tube preamp in a 500 series package, using a dual triode circuit with a 12AX7 tube

SYREN features a dual gain stage circuit and allows overdrive effects.
A switch selectable HI-z input is included.  The low cut filter is at 90 Hz and is 24 db/ octave.  The pad has
-15 db and -25 db settings to allow a wide input range of signals.

The audio path color is changed by modifying the second stage tube circuit so it has negative feedback or does not have negative feedback.  This changes the interaction between the tube stages and thus the sound of the pre-amp.  With negative feedback it is a more accurate audio path with wider frequency response and without negative feedback it has a more open warmer sound.

FALCON is a classic sounding tube compressor in a 500 series package.
FALCON features 3 attack and 3 release time settings, hard and soft knee choices for compression or limiting, two different audio path sounds, wet-dry mixing for parallel compression, and is linkable.

The audio path color is changed by modifying the tube circuit so it has negative feedback or does not have negative feedback.  This along with the optical like quality of the compressor allows for a colored vintage sound or a much cleaner sound with optical characteristics.

When linked the master unit controls all functions on the slave except for wet-dry and make up gain.  The link system is capable of doing 5.1

The Crane Song HEDD Quantum applies sub-picosecond jitter clocking to the A/D and D/A converters to provide the purest sound possible, wide three dimensional image of your recordings, and highly detailed transient response. HEDD Quantum features the same sub-picosecond jitter clocking found in the Avocet IIA DAC. For those who use Toslink connectivity, optical in and outs have been added for a more flexible setup.

The HEDD Quantum can be used as a master clock at the same time as applying A/D D/A conversion through its six word clock outputs, which can also run at multiple sample rates. Three styles of DSP emulation are still utilized; Triode, Pentode and Tape Emulation.

Choose between two different operations modes, DIGI and ANA. In DIGI mode, the HEDD will accept the digital in from one of the three sources then send the output of all three digital inputs and analog connections simultaneously. ANA is an analog mode, which takes the input in as pure analog, then outputs all three digital and analog outputs at the same time.

Select between 16 or 20 bit fully analog dithering, the A/D D/A and ASRC chips are made with the highest quality AKM 32-bit components, all processed with proprietary analog filtering and clocking for an uncompromising final product.

The Crane Song Avocet IIA is designed to solve the problems of accurate monitoring and volume control as required by workstation users, studios and mastering rooms alike. It is a stereo controller with three digital inputs, three analog inputs and a headphone system. It's comprised of a rack mounted unit and table top remote control. Avocet has many features including; dim, mute, phase, mono, and 16 bit truncation functions, plus a speaker select switch that sends line level balanced audio to one of three outputs. The six input sources have on the fly gain trim capability and all digital signals are up-sampled and jitter reduced to ensure highest accuracy during D/A conversion.
The internal headphone amplifier can be fed from the program source or an external input. Provisions for a talk back function are included.
Avocet IIA can operate in surround up to 7.1, with the appropriate number of audio boxes in the system.
Direct sub woofer outputs for each of the three output have been added. The output levels are now programmable in 0.25 db steps for speaker level matching.
Analog and digital inputs
The Avocet IIA provides both analog and digital inputs to allow you to connect straight from your DAW or mixing board. The analog inputs take the form of XLRs, and the digital inputs are AES/EBU and S/PDIF. The Avocet IIA will facilitate the connection of up to three pairs of speakers via XLR outputs, with a dedicated subwoofer output for each output pair. The included remote gives you the power to check your mix on different sets of speakers from where you're sitting.

Headphone and talkback circuit
The Avocet IIA doesn't just manage multiple pairs of monitors - it also provides headphone cue mix and talkback functionality. This can be extremely handy during the tracking process. The headphone cue mix can be different than the signal sent to the monitors, giving the engineer an accurate representation of what's happening in the room, while the artists have the headphone mix that they need to lay down their parts. The remote has an XLR input for the connection of a talkback mic, making communicating with the talent during tracking a snap.
