The standout qualities of the new CM7 Suprema passive electronics are their extraordinarily direct low-end responsiveness and wide high-end plateau. Combine this with an audiophile PSU and you'll hear both the best qualities of a modern microphone and the legendary sound of a vintage microphone. The CM7 S is a serious pro-studio workhorse because it has a very nice top and bottom, and brings out a natural sound from any source.
Grille
Our Wunder Audio CM7 S Grille is true to vintage with three gauges of grill mesh at the head grille: an outer large mesh, an inner medium mesh, and a fine mesh that is sandwiched in between. This proper vintage mesh gauge is not the readily available metric gauge and is vastly important for the legendary sound of a U47.
M7 Capsule
The diaphragm in our M7 capsule is stretched and glued to the rim, akin to how a snare drum head is stretched over a rim, and never screwed to the backplate.
Our backplate is brass and precision milled by hand in Switzerland to the original rim height 15/10000th inch specification within one-micron tolerance. (0.0000393701”). The original M7’s had up to .0002” tolerance, this modern upgrade explains why some brand new U47’s back in the 1950’s sounded better than others. The CM7 S has 3 mounting isolation rims, true to the vintage Berlin M7 and superior to the Gefell M7 which has only 2. Our capsules are then sent to Germany, where they have perfected the craft of skinning them in gold.
Tube
We've put a modern upgrade to the original vintage NOS Telefunken EF14 tube to achieve the same specs as the VF14. Our NOS tubes were made in Berlin or Ulm Germany during the same production run as the original VF14’s.
The original U47 had a VF14 metal tube that was made in Germany in the 1950’s by the original Telefunken GmbH company, which no longer exists. NOS VF14 tubes in a sealed box are now totally extinct. The only difference in these EF14’s from the VF14 is where the filament wire was attached. The VF14 that was used in the Neumann U47 microphone was under heated, and so if you use an EF14 and run a separate filament at 5.0 V, the EF14 will be sonically indistinguishable to the VF14. With passive electronics, we slightly modify the filament load to achieve this resulting in identical results to the VF14.
Capacitor
We've optimized our passive components to achieve a true audiophile performance.
We've enhanced our true to vintage microphones by utilizing the Suprema Silver Gold Oil capacitor which is the highest quality capacitor available today. These capacitors are so quiet and really let you look very deep into the recording! This results in a modern-vintage sound where the spectrum opens up, adding emphasis to the sound staging and creates a greater sense of air and transparency, without the impression of a diminished mid and lower-end response. The outcome is a less grainy and a much more fluid sound. The focus is tighter and sharper.
Transformer
The transformer inside the CM7 Suprema is a historic recreation of the early transformers used in the exceedingly rare early “Large Badge” U47s. It contains the exact vintage Mu-Metal as these early Berlin U47 transformers and is wound to the original Braunbuch specifications using NOS (new old stock) laminations.
The most important difference in the first several hundred “Large Badge” U47’s was that the transformer bobbin was a full 1/8” larger than the later version of the U47 transformer. The CM7 Suprema transformer incorporates these highly desired larger bobbin specs. The CM7 S replaces the problematic PVC wire insulation, upgrading it to Teflon to ensure 100% reliability. Aging and decay of the transformer and 30 other components in a 66-year-old vintage U47 microphone is the reason for the undesirable sound in many of the older mics.
Power Supply
The new generation tube Microphone PSU is proprietary to Wunder Audio and is an upgrade from the vintage tube mic PSU’s used for the 1960's era Neumann design. Our upgrade gets a clean and stable DC voltage to the mic and shields the influx of Wi-Fi and RF interference with 100 percent reliability. The PSU can be plugged into any voltage in the world without having to jumper a voltage setting switch. Inside, we've incorporated extremely accurate 30 turn trim pots so we are able to fine-tune all of the voltages.
Box and Carrying Case
Your Wunder Audio CM7 S is nestled in velvet and softly secured in place in a foam-lined quarter sawn oak box that is clasped and hinged. This box then is safely encased in a precision velvet-lined thick foam tweed case that also holds your PSU, your shock mount, and your cables. The tweed carrying case uses the same Fender tweed found in a vintage Fender guitar case, and it is trimmed with top grain leather and fine stitching. The CM7 S case has a strong leather handle and combination lock to keep your mic secure.

The Wunder Audio CM12 Suprema Multi-Pattern Tube Microphone is a historic replica of the renowned AKG C12 vintage tube microphone, featuring capability of producing 9 different polar patterns. The CM12 S includes a CK12 capsule, a Hiller T14/1 transformer, and a 6072a vacuum tube, all built to original specifications and true to the vintage C12.
Our CM12 S is designed to reproduce an audio signal with the detail, clarity, and character of the original C12. The C12, AKG’s best-known tube condenser, is regarded by many as one of the finest microphones ever made and our CM12 S lives up to this notion with its principal sound creating components: the capsule, the transformer, the tube, the grille size and the screen mesh.
Grille
Some of the most important sound capturing components of the CM12 S is the grille size and screen mesh. Our CM12 S grille, as well as all the mechanical components in the CM12 S, are true to the vintage mic and are made to the exact specs as the original C12, down to the smallest of machine marks. The grille is made like a piece of fine jewelry, as it is hand brazed, polished, and bright nickel-plated.
The grille's open mesh captures the ears of those who were spoilt by the luminescence and transparency of the original C12.
Capsule
The Wunder Audio CM12 Suprema employs a true to vintage CK12 capsule with 6-micron Mylar. It is a side-address, large-diaphragm design based on AKG’s CK12 capsule. The CK12 dual membrane, dual backplate capsule was first Introduced in 1951 as AKG developed this completely new type of complex backplate.
It is a 1" membrane that is fully metalized. This freely vibrating membrane will have a lower LF cutoff than any center fixed membrane like the KK47 or KK67. The CK12 also has a unique system of dual, asymmetrical, separated resonant backplates (each backplate is itself a resonant chamber), which is what gives it a very flat midrange and 10-12 kHz peak. The original CK12 capsule is widely considered to be one of the finest condenser microphone capsules in history. In 1953, an Austrian company, AKG revealed the now-legendary CK12 microphone capsule and became one of the two dominant forces in the manufacture of commercial condenser microphones. This new capsule became to be the basis of their bestselling AKG C12 microphone.
Transformer
The CM12 Suprema uses a period correct Hiller T14/1 transformer wound to the Braunbuch specification, using laminations made from the identical nickel alloy mixture as used in the historic Hiller T14 transformer.
Tube
The Wunder Audio CM12 S tubes are hand tested NOS GE 5-star 6072A:
• 6.3 volts DC filament voltage,
• 120 volts DC plate voltage
The GE 5 Star 6072A is one of the finest 6072 tubes ever made. In fact, the GE 5 Star 6072A’s are the only 6072 (12AY7 variant) tubes recommended in high-end applications. The primary special purpose of a 6072 is its super low noise and microphonics. That is why these tubes are important in microphones and first stages of high-end audio equipment. These special purpose dual triode tubes are equipped with spiral wound heater filaments to eliminate hum and have to pass rigorous screening for noise levels.
Capacitor
We've optimized our passive components to achieve a true audiophile performance. While audiophile equipment is usually referred to at the end of the chain in recording, we feel that it is most important that the first link in the recording chain, the microphone, be the best attainable.
To be able to listen to the best possible recording, you must be able to record the source with minimal amounts of noise and distortion and be able to accurately capture every nuance of the sound. We've enhanced our true to vintage microphones by utilizing the Suprema Silver Gold Oil capacitor which is the highest quality capacitor available today. More importantly, sonically the CM12 S capacitor stands out due to its wonderful natural singing and exceptional micro dynamic. Capacitance: 1uF; Dielectric: Polypropylene Metallization 99.99% silver, 1% gold; Purity of silver: min. 99.97% typ. 99.99%; Purity of gold: min. 99.97% typ. 99.99%". Sound: At this level, we are talking about a really serious capacitor, relative to other exotic types. They are richer and better layered and they seem more open and more spatial. Mundorf Silver Gold Oil really excels in image depth - call it bowling alley depth! A slight hint of top-end air, this probably contributes to the perceived spatiality and micro-detailing.

We've engineered our PSU to the equivalent of the technology incorporated in top-tier audiophile systems, using a dual-pole neutral-fusing design. The PSU can be plugged into any voltage in the world without having to jumper a voltage setting switch. Inside, we've incorporated extremely accurate 30 turn trim pots so we are able to fine-tune all of the voltages. Most other power supply designs either do not have a voltage trim or use a single turn pot, which is susceptible to drifting. For the most reliable pattern switching, the CM12 S PSU uses a military spec Grayhill switch.
Box and Carrying Case
Your Wunder Audio CM12 S is nestled in velvet and softly secured in place in a foam-lined quarter sawn oak box that is clasped and hinged. This box then is safely encased in a precision velvet-lined thick foam tweed case that also holds your PSU, your swivel mount, and your cables.
The tweed carrying case is a work of art in itself; it uses the same Fender tweed found in a vintage Fender guitar case which amplifies the vintage period of the vintage-style CM12 S microphone, and it is trimmed with top grain leather and fine stitching. The CM12 S case has a strong leather handle and combination lock to keep your mic secure. This case can be sold separately.

The Wunder Audio CM67 S is an exceptional microphone for vocals when a smoother sound is desired. The original U67 is prized for its warmth, this is also true for the Wunder Audio CM67 S. It is also excellent for drums (toms, snare, overheads), acoustic guitar and electric guitar. The CM67 S is a serious pro-studio workhorse because it has a very nice top and bottom end, and brings out a natural sound from any source. This mic is true to a vintage U67 with a modern upgrade, we've engineered a switchable cardioid mode relay on the inside of the mic instead of on the outside of the grille. This mode produces a smoother more full-bodied sound. The pattern switch is still on the PSU, but the actual switch point in the circuit is directly below the capsule compartment. At the same time, it retains the eight different polar patterns found in a vintage M49, so it is like having two mics in one!
Capsule
The K67 capsule in the CM67 S includes a two-piece back plate, allowing both diaphragms to be tuned individually and then matched for an equivalent response.
There were 6 different versions of the original Neumann K67 capsule. The earlier versions, circa 1960-66, had either brass or fiber diaphragm rings and the later versions, 1966 onwards, were made with white plastic diaphragm rings and these later rings were actually better at isolating the diaphragm from the backplate ground. We took this approach one step further with a modern upgrade by utilizing a white porcelain ringed K67 in our capsule. Our porcelain has low permeability and elasticity, considerable strength, hardness, resonance, and a high resistance to chemical attack and thermal shock, improving on the white plastic rings used on the original K67; which were prone to discoloring, becoming soaked with impurities over the years and affected its electrical resistance thus creating noise.
Tube
The CM67 Suprema gives you a choice of one of two new old stock EF86 tubes that are excellent in this mic, both are fantastic and both are unique in their own way:
• One is the German made vintage Telefunken EF86, which emphasizes the highs.
• The other is a vintage special select Phillips tube, which lends warmth to the sound.
Transformer
The transformer in the CM67 Suprema is true to vintage and is somewhat unique. It makes use of an elaborate feedback network known as a tertiary winding, which creates negative feedback through the capsule to the tube for High-Frequency de-emphasis.
It creates a roll-off in the HF response in order to compensate for the natural HF peak due to the original design of the K67 capsule. It takes a very special transformer to accomplish this task while simultaneously achieving such an impressive sound. Some U67 recreations have a quick fix to simulate the sound of the original, but most of the modifications that attenuate the top end achieve a less than desirable result. This is not exactly a good trade-off.

Our NEW CM49 JFET S microphone features a unique low-noise profile JFET transistor with tube sound characteristics and optimized to provide low noise at both high and low frequency with beautiful detail and focus.
The CM49 JFET S has an incredibly rich audiophile accuracy and a round tone with smoother clarity throughout the frequency range. The recording will fit beautifully into the mix even without EQ.
Like The CM49 S, the Wunder Audio CM49 JFET S is very true to the vintage Neumann M49.
Grille
The CM49 JFET S has a slanted grille to limit the effect of grille resonance on the response. Because the grille is slanted and presents a continuously varying profile to the capsule, there are fewer standing waves generated.
his gives the most natural sound obtainable in any microphone, very pure and pleasantly warm. In every way, the Wunder Audio CM49 JFET S Suprema grille is true to vintage and identical to the original M49. It has been used as historical replacement parts on the vintage M49s. The size of the grille forms a larger-volume enclosure giving the capsule more breathing room and contributes to its openness.
Technical
Our new CM49 JFET S series JFET transistor has huge tube sound characteristics with zero noise. Utilizing large scale integrated circuit technology to build the CM49 JFET S series allows us to achieve the goals of high transconductance, low noise and a low value of gate to drain capacitance. This combined with recent developments in Ion Implant technology optimized for low noise has allowed the creation of this state-of-the-art product.

Capsule
The CM49 JFET S Suprema uses the same Historic Berlin M7 capsule as the CM7 Suprema, and yet because of the completely different housing and the triode electronics, there are few similarities in the sound of these microphones. Both mics are superb vocal mics, though neither was designed for the purpose of close-miking, the CM49 JFET S and CM7 S really shines when placed close up with a loud source and creates a very desirable proximity effect. We recognize that sound, and we love it!
Package includes:
CM49 JFET S, Plush Oak Box, Historical Yoke Mount, Comes standard with the Historic Berlin M7 capsule.
$7,995 Dólares
The Wunder Audio CM49 S is very true to the vintage Neumann M49 and is an outstanding microphone due to its unique characteristic of having the ability to switch to three different directions; omni, cardioid, and a figure eight pattern. The CM49 S is a pressure-gradient microphone consisting of two equal cardioid condenser capsule systems mounted back to back. Its directional characteristic may be changed continuously by remote control, which permits an easy adaptation to various acoustical environments and enabling it to cope with almost any scenario likely to arise. The CM49 S has an incredibly rich and round tone that has the ability to make even harsher sounds much more pleasant and warm. It is especially a great choice for female vocals; our CM49 is the go-to mic for Alicia Keys. It has a smoother high-frequency range with more warmth and less of that beautiful grit that our CM7 is known for.
Grille
The CM49 S has a slanted grille to limit the effect of grille resonance on the response. Because the grille is slanted and presents a continuously varying profile to the capsule, there are fewer standing waves generated.

It has a way of rendering the female vocal with an immediacy and presence not found in any other design.
Tube
Wunder Audio CM49 S uses and original MSC2, which is our preferred tube and an upgrade from the ultra-miniature AC701 that eventually replaced this fine tube in the original M49s due to the demands of the German Broadcasting industry. The original Telefunken GmbH German-based company, which no longer exists, made a high-end version of the MSC2, Wunder Audio has secured a supply of this version which was a superior grade and was originally designed for military use.

The Wunder Audio CM7 FET Suprema is a phantom powered version of the original U47. The original goal with a phantom powered mic was to bypass the need for a tube PSU. One shortcoming of the U47 FET was that the design technology of the 1960’s FET transistor was in its infancy and the end result was not always desirable.
The Wunder Audio CM7 FET Suprema has improved this design with a modern upgrade that employs an ultra-low noise single n-channel transistor with JFET technology coupled with a Neve 1073 style mic pre-transformer. The results are stunning and the performance of this mic greatly surpasses the original, yielding better low-lows and highs. This a workhorse studio mic for all sources, especially vocals, making it reminiscent of a 1970’s era U87!
Grille
Employing the exact replica of the original grille is one of the key aspects of achieving the correct performance of this mic.
Our Wunder Audio CM7FET S Grille is true to vintage with three gauges of grill mesh at the head grille: an outer large mesh, an inner medium mesh, and a fine mesh that is sandwiched in between.
The Wunder Audio Suprema Grille has acoustic interplay with the capsule, having the electronic properties of a Faraday cage. This proper vintage mesh gauge is not the readily available metric gauge and is vastly important for the legendary sound of a U47.
Capsule
The Wunder Audio CM7 FET Suprema K47 capsule includes a one-piece back plate dual Membrane Capsule. The diaphragms are tuned individually and then matched for an equivalent response.

We've optimized our passive components to achieve a true audiophile performance. While high-fidelity equipment is usually referred to at the end of the chain in recording, we feel that it is equally important all the way through; to be able to listen to the best possible recording, you must be able to record that sound with minimal amounts of noise and distortion and an accurate frequency.
We've enhanced to our true to vintage microphones by changing the value of the capacitors resulting in a lower corner frequency for a modern-vintage sound where the spectrum opens up, adding emphasis to the sound staging and creates a greater sense of air and transparency, without the impression of a diminished mid and lower-end response. The outcome is a less grainy and a much more fluid sound. The focus is tighter and sharper.
Box and Yoke Mount
Your Wunder Audio CM7 FET S is nestled in velvet and softly secured in place in a foam-lined oak-wooden box that is clasped and hinged. This beautiful oak box is also sold separately. Your CM7 FET S yoke mount is an improved one-piece design for durability.

The CM7 G (Glass Tube Switchable) Suprema is the latest evolution of the CM7-GTS. This mic is true to a vintage U47 with a modern upgrade, we've engineered a switchable cardioid mode relay on the inside of the mic instead of on the outside of the grille. This mode produces a smoother more full-bodied sound. The pattern switch is still on the PSU, but the actual switch point in the circuit is directly below the capsule compartment. At the same time, it retains the eight different polar patterns found in a vintage M49, so it is like having two mics in one!
Grille
Our Wunder Audio CM7 GS Grille is true to vintage with three gauges of grill mesh at the head grille: an outer large mesh, an inner medium mesh, and a fine mesh that is sandwiched in between. The Wunder Audio Suprema Grille has acoustic interplay with the capsule, having the electronic properties of a Faraday cage. This proper vintage mesh gauge is not the readily available metric gauge and is vastly important for the legendary sound of a U47.
Capsule
The Wunder Audio CM7 GS Suprema Microphone can be ordered either with K47 or M7 Capsule.
Our diaphragm is stretched and glued to the rim, akin to how a snare drum head is stretched over a rim and never screwed to the backplate.
Our backplate is brass and precision milled by hand in Switzerland to the original rim height 15/10000th inch specification within one-micron tolerance. (1 Micron = 0.0000393701 inch) A modern upgrade to the original M7’s which had up to 0002” tolerance and explains why some brand new U47’s back in the 1950’s sounded better than others. The CM7 GS has three mounting isolation rims, true to the vintage Berlin M7 and a modern upgrade to the Gefell M7 which has only two; having three rims provides an improved isolation of the ground. Our capsules then sent to Germany, where they have perfected the craft of skinning them in gold.
Tube
The CM7 G Suprema includes a new old stock Telefunken 800 series tube. This tube is modern glass derivative of the VF14M used in the vintage U47. It uses the same system construction but in a package that is less likely to get microphonic.
Transformer
The transformer inside the CM7 G Suprema is a historic recreation of the early transformers used in the exceedingly rare early “Large Badge” U47s.
The CM7 G Suprema transformer incorporates these highly desired larger bobbin specs. We've replaced the problematic PVC wire insulation of the original U47 in the CM7 GS, upgrading it to Teflon to ensure 100% reliability Over the decades, the original U47 transformers will begin to decay. The clear PVC coating that was used as an insulation between the layers of the Mu-Metal laminations rubs off by the transformer mounting screws and fuses the lamination layers together causing changes in the lows and high frequencies. Additionally PVC was used as insulation on the hookup wire emanating from the bobbin and this PVC eventually flakes off the wire causing irrevocable damage to the bobbin windings. Aging and decay of the transformer and 30 other components in a 66-year-old vintage U47 microphone is the reason for the undesirable sound in many of the older mics.
More importantly, sonically the CM7 GS capacitor stands out due to its wonderful natural singing and exceptional micro dynamic.
Power Supply
The new generation tube Microphone PSU is proprietary to Wunder Audio and is an upgrade from the vintage tube mic PSU’s used for the 1960's era Neumann design. Our upgrade gets a clean and stable DC voltage to the mic and shields the influx of Wi-Fi and RF interference with 100 percent reliability
For the most reliable pattern switching, the CM7 GS PSU uses a military spec Grayhill switch.
Box and Carrying Case
Your Wunder Audio CM7 GS is nestled in velvet and softly secured in place in a foam-lined quarter sawn oak box that is clasped and hinged. This box then is safely encased in a precision velvet-lined thick foam tweed case that also holds your PSU, your shock mount, and your cables. The tweed carrying case is a work of art in itself; it uses the same Fender tweed found in a vintage Fender guitar case which amplifies the vintage period of the vintage-style CM7 GS microphone, and it is trimmed with top grain leather and fine stitching. The CM7 GS case has a strong leather handle and combination lock to keep your mic secure. This case can be sold separately.
Package includes:
CM7 GS, Plush Oak Box, Historical Shock Mount, Wunder Audio Power Supply, Tube mic cable, Tweed Carrying Case. Comes standard with the K47 capsule, Optional Upgrade to M7 capsule.
