The Barefoot Sound MasterStack12 is a 4.5-way active modular tower system with 10 drive units housed in sealed enclosures spanning 18Hz to 40kHz with vanishingly low distortion, breathtaking dynamic range and ultra-fast transient response. Every driver has an under-hung voice coil moving inside an advanced geometry motor that enables it make extremely long linear excursions. The ring radiator tweeter is incredibly detailed and produces very wide dispersion out to its highest frequencies. The aluminum cone subwoofers, woofers and midranges radiate as perfect pistons to at least 2.5 octaves beyond their respective bandwidths.
The MasterStack12 also features Barefoot’s revolutionary MEME™(Multi Emphasis Monitor Emulation™) technology giving you 4 monitors in one! Despite the advantages of high resolution monitors, Thomas Barefoot realizes that many engineers still use their NS10M’s † and mix cubes as secondary references. These speakers have long traditions and people find them familiar and useful for focusing in on certain aspects of their mix. However, crowding one’s console with those extra boxes degrades the sound field of the primary reference monitors. Not to mention, they are no longer manufactured, they need amplifiers, cable runs, and they consume more studio space. So why not make the Barefoot sound and translate like those speakers as well? With the turn of a knob one can switch from the MasterStack12’s incredibly revealing “Flat” response to the warmer and sweeter “Hi-Fi” setting, generically emulating the sound of some high-end audiophile gear. The “Old School” setting specifically emulates the sound of the NS10M nearfield, while the “Cube” setting emulates the mid-centric sound of classic mix cubes The idea is not to perfectly replicate every subtle quirk of these venerable old speakers. That would be impossible. However, MEME does capture the essence of how they behave and translate, modeling their frequency, phase and transient responses, dynamic compression and even some of their distortion components. If you are familiar with these classic monitors, you will feel very comfortable working on the MEME settings as well.

MEME™ Technology
Despite the advantages of high resolution monitors, Thomas Barefoot realizes that many engineers still use their NS10M’s † and mix cubes as secondary references. These speakers have long traditions and people find them familiar and useful for focusing in on certain aspects of their mix. However, crowding one’s console with those extra boxes degrades the sound field of the primary reference monitors. Not to mention, they are no longer manufactured, they need amplifiers, cable runs, and they consume more studio space. The solution is to make the MM26 sound and translate like those speakers. With the turn of a knob one can switch from the MicroMain26′s brutally revealing “Flat” response to the warmer and sweeter “Hi-Fi” setting, generically emulating the sound of some high end consumer audio gear. More specifically the “Old School” setting closely emulates the sound of the NS10M nearfield, while the “Cube” setting emulates the mid-centric sound of classic mix cubes The idea is not to perfectly replicate every subtle quirk of these venerable old speakers. That would be impossible. But the MM26 can capture the essence of how they behave and translate, modeling their frequency, phase and transient responses, dynamic compression and even specific distortion components. If you know how to work on these speakers you will feel very comfortable working on the new MM26′s emulation settings.

The Barefoot Sound MicroMain27 Gen2 takes Barefoot’s all-in-one monitoring concept to new heights. Unwilling to rest on his laurels, Thomas Barefoot has spent years further refining one of the most revered recording studio monitors in the world. These refinements preserve the effortless translation that has defined the Barefoot brand, but are an evolution, yielding even greater transparency and inner detail. The MicroMain27 Gen2 retains the same compact form factor as its predecessor, with integrated dual 10" force-canceling subwoofers, but the MM27 Gen2 is updated with technology developed in the flagship MiniMain12. New additions include ultra-high-quality converters, a 1" ring radiator tweeter, 5.25" extended-range neodymium motor mid-bass drivers, Hypex amplification, AES digital inputs, a 1dB stepped attenuator, and advanced DSP integration.
- Worthy evolution of a widely renowned monitor
- New speaker emulation technology offers 4-in-1 referencing
- Integrated dual 10" subwoofer design supports clean upper bass and mids
Worthy evolution of a widely renowned monitor
While the original MicroMain27 was amassing its stellar reviews, Thomas Barefoot remained hard at work cultivating new technology to take the MM27 to the next level. The result is the MM27 Gen2, which delivers the neutrality, form factor, and all-in-one functionality that attracted the likes of Michael Brauer, Butch Vig, Rich Costey, and Mark Linett in the first place. But, the MM27 Gen2 separates itself from its honorable predecessor in key, significant ways. Notably, Barefoot incorporated the successful technology initially implemented in their flagship MiniMain12, including the same signal path, from the converters to the Digital Signal Processor to premium Hypex amplifier modules. What's more, the MicroMain27 Gen2 offers an improved tweeter for even more accurate highs, along with new 5.25" extended-range neudymium motor mid-bass drivers, and the ultra-stable dual 10" force-cancelling subwoofers, a trio that works together smoothly and seamlessly to deliver an honest, accurate image.
New speaker emulation technology offers 4-in-1 referencing
In addition to its even, revealing voice, the MM27 Gen2 harnesses DSP power to bring you the voicing characteristics and responses of classic studio nearfield monitors. You can use the four-position wired remote to quickly switch through different voices, allowing you to preview your mix on different types of speakers, without having the clutter of multiple speaker systems. The four settings are "Old School," "Cube," "Hi-Fi," and "Flat." The "Old School" setting captures the essence of the ubiquitous NS10M, rolling off the sub-bass and top-end information, and bringing forward mid-range presence. The "Cube" setting is a nod to the "aura" of the classic full-range micro monitors of yesteryear, a valuable setting in the age of laptops, tablets, and earbuds. "Hi-Fi" sweetens the high end and warms mid-range to behave much like consumer hi-fi systems, the perfect setting for quick artist playback or when listening to favorites in the studio. Last, as you might expect, "Flat" is the prized default setting, offering the true, revealing Barefoot Sound.
Integrated dual 10" subwoofer design supports clean upper bass and mids
Part of the magic that makes the MM27 Gen2 work so well is that, like its predecessor, it offers integrated dual 10" subwoofers. Working alongside an updated 1" ring radiator tweeter and dual 5.25" midbass drivers, all with advanced neodymium motors, the MM27's two subs are housed in compact sealed enclosures, yielding stable LF control and excellent impulse response. Because the sub motor structures are locked together, the opposing forces cancel each other out, keeping the MM27 Gen2 steady even at roaring output levels. Even more importantly, the integrated sub design takes the pressure off the mid-bass drivers, resulting in a dramatically cleaned-up upper bass and midrange.
MicroMain27 Gen2 features:
- 3.5-way active studio monitor with integral subwoofers
- Four-setting DSP voice emulation
- Analog and AES3 digital inputs

Arguably the most accurate, revealing, and technologically advanced recording monitor ever made, the Barefoot Sound MiniMain12 is a no-compromise four-way titan packed with no fewer than seven drive units. Barefoot housed the septet of drivers inside the MM12's sealed enclosures, effortlessly delivering 20Hz to 40kHz with vanishing low distortion, unbelievably wide dynamic range, and ultra-fast transient response. No hype, literally. Barefoot's commitment to supreme quality and technical sophistication is evident throughout their monitor lineup, but the MiniMain12 significantly raises the bar. Just the DSP crossover took Thomas Barefoot more than four years of meticulous R&D to develop. What's more, beyond the MiniMain12's abundance of innovative tech that delivers its matchless linearity and transparency, the MM12 can even emulate other speakers. Barefoot understands that most of us have trained our ears on a set of secondary references. Using the MM12's selection of classic-voiced speaker emulations, you can pack up your Cubes or NS-10s, ultimately streamlining your space, eliminating the problematic reflections attendant with multiple sets of monitors, and getting all your main and referencing done in the most sophisticated manner possible. The wait is over, give your studio all the monitor you can imagine—and the monitors you already own—in the standard-setting Barefoot Sound MiniMain12. Read on to learn more.

The best from the best: Barefoot Sound's ultimate reference monitor
If you've followed the trajectory of Thomas Barefoot and Barefoot Sound, then you know the number "12" has near-mythical origins among monitor aficionados. Barefoot originally made his widely acclaimed monitors one by one in his garage, branding them with the number "12" which has always signified his best-of-the-best. As technology marched on, Barefoot retired the flagship number and went to work re-envisioning monitor technology to release the "12" of today. Thomas Barefoot and the Barefoot Sound team chased down every idea, teamed with the best and brightest, and have been hard at work for nearly half a decade bringing you the MiniMain12 you see today. It's already creating a tidal wave in studios familiar with the Barefoot story and among pros who demand nothing but the best.
Speaker emulation technology eliminates your need for secondary references
With the MM12, you can box up your secondary reference monitors for good. Thomas Barefoot realizes that despite the advantages of high-resolution monitors, many engineers still use their NS-10s and Auratones as secondary references. These speakers have long traditions and people find them familiar and useful for focusing in on certain aspects of their mix. However, it's also a fact that crowding your console with those extra boxes degrades the sound field of the primary reference monitors—not to mention, they're no longer manufactured, need amplifiers, require cable runs, and consume more studio space. To offer an elegant solution, while streamlining the studio at the same time, Thomas Barefoot made the MM12 sound and translate like those classic speakers, too. With the turn of a knob, you can switch from the MiniMain12's brutally revealing "Flat" response to the warmer and sweeter "Hi-Fi" setting, the "Old School" sound of the NS-10M, or the mid-centric "Cube" sound of the Auratone 5C. The idea was not to perfectly replicate every subtle quirk of those venerable old speakers—that would be impossible. Rather, the MiniMain12 can capture the essence of how they behave and translate, modeling their frequency, phase, and transient responses, along with their dynamic compression and even some of their distortion components. If you know how to work on NS-10s or Auratones, then you'll feel very comfortable working on the MM12's emulation settings.
Seven meticulously designed drivers deliver a linear 20Hz-40kHz
The Barefoot Sound MiniMain12 boldly brings you a four-way active system with seven drivers, all housed in sealed enclosures, delivering unbelievably low distortion, wide dynamic range, and ultra-fast transient response. Every driver has an under-hung voice coil moving inside an advanced geometry motor that enables it to make extremely long linear excursions. What's more, the ring radiator tweeter is incredibly detailed and produces very wide dispersion out to its highest frequencies. As for the aluminum cone subwoofers, woofers, and midranges, they radiate as perfect pistons to at least two and a half octaves beyond their respective bandwidths. To ensure the MM12 pushed the technology as far as possible and set the standard yet again, Barefoot teamed up with the brilliant Bruno Putzeys of Hypex to develop the powerful and completely transparent amplifier stage of the MM12.
Four years of R&D behind the seamless DSP crossover technology
Most products are designed in well under four years. Barefoot Sound spent four years just on the MM12's crossovers. This kind of above-and-beyond, unmatched brand of passion shows. With beautifully designed high-end converters and cutting-edge proprietary filtering techniques, the MiniMain12 produces such a seamless and coherent wavefront that, if you dare, you can actually listen to this speaker from fewer than three feet away, with no sonic compromise. And, yes, the MM12 works perfectly out to far field distances as well, producing SPLs equivalent to big mains.

VERSATILIDAD INIGUALABLE
