Economical Active Analog Summing
The Dangerous Music 2-BUS-XT is an economical 16-channel active analog summing mixer with a circuit devised by renowned designer Chris Muth. This unit really delivers the goods, nailing kicks and vocals to the center of your mix, while yielding a super-wide soundstage, near-zero channel crosstalk, and expansive headroom. With the 2-BUS-XT, your mixes will be glued together in an organic way. You'll mix faster, better, and with fewer plug-ins. This summing box includes two onboard audio processors for adding tone and color to your mixes, and it's fully expandible with additional 2-BUS-XTs, as well as Dangerous Music's other summing offerings. If you're searching for a way to elevate your mixes into the big leagues, then the 2-BUS-XT just might be the secret weapon you've been waiting for.

A trio of custom audio processors In sync with Dangerous Music's doctrine of tonal coloration as a per-project artistic choice, the 2-Bus+ features three separate custom audio processors that let you selectively add tone and color to your mixes. In parallel-processing mode, you can deploy "Harmonics," a tuned harmonic distortion generator and "Paralimit," a FET limiter on steroids. You can apply both of these across your stereo mix or on a pair of stems. "X-Former" kicks in a pair of custom transformers with core-saturation control on your stereo mix outs. You can have all three tone processors active concurrently, and you can flip the order of signal flow through distortion and limiting. Outstanding flexibility Dangerous Music knows that each engineer - and session - is unique, so they designed the 2-BUS+ for outstanding professional flexibility. They spec'd it with an XLR stereo insert before the outputs for adding a separate compressor or processing chain that you can bypass at the touch of a button for a quick reference comparison. Channels 1/2 and 9/10 can be set to mono to route, for instance, vocals/bass and kick/snare each to own mono input. They also gave the 2-BUS+ an output control stepped in .5dB increments from -4dB to +6dB, and included XLR connections for both the Main and Monitor outputs. Gang 'em for high channel count Need a full-on analog "console" summing experience? Gang together multiple 2-BUS+ units via the Stereo Expansion Inputs XLR to create a customized channel count. For the ultimate in tonal flexibility and control, the custom audio processors on each unit apply across the ganged group output. With three units, for instance, you'll have 48 channels of analog summing, with the first two units employing Harmonics (distortion), and Paralimit (limiter) across two separate stereo stems, and the third unit applying X-Former transformer saturation on the master stereo outputs. Active sidechain: your secret weapon for achieving pro results It's no secret that sidechaining is your key to achieving amazing results with a compressor. The passive sidechain of most compressors, however, leaves something to be desired. In true Dangerous fashion, the Compressor gives you a better solution: active sidechain send/return circuitry that gives you tons of control, with no loading or impedance issues. You also get a sidechain monitor that lets you monitor the signal, as well as Sibilance Boost - which shaves shrillness with no post-compression hangover, and a 60Hz Bass Cut that tightens your track without damaging your low end. Cool features that take the guesswork out of dynamics control The Dangerous Compressor is packed with smart features that let you get great results, quickly. One of these is Auto Attack/Release, which intelligently sets - you guessed it - the attack and release of the compressor. And the algorithms employed here do this far better than you could yourself by relying on guesswork enlightened by years of professional experience. Another cool feature is Smart Dyn Dual Slope Detection, which automatically limits peaks while stealthily compressing the average. And then there's the True Stereo Dual Detector that preserves your stereo image far better than traditional linking ever could. The proof of all this is in the high-quality, pro results - and how quickly you can achieve them. Looks like Dangerous Music has another winner on their hands with their Compressor. Dangerous has been building award-winning, standard-setting converters since 2002 when the Dangerous Monitor’s onboard digital-to-analog converter (DAC) swiftly became the industry reference. They’ve been asked over the years to build a stand alone DAC, and it's finally here in the CONVERT series. Eager to embrace the opportunity to develop a new and better DAC, we designed the CONVERT series converters from the ground up, utilizing cutting-edge digital technology coupled to a Chris Muth designed analog circuit that delivers their signature sound: open, articulate and powerful from top to bottom. Loaded with innovative and useful features accessed from an intuitive front panel, the Dangerous CONVERT-2 tops an elite class of dedicated stereo digital-to-analog converters in both sound and ease of use. The CONVERT-2 goes beyond transparency – you won't just hear everything, you’ll hear it beautifully. It’s All About Implementation
While in theory most converters should be the same, among those who truly understand this hotly debated and endlessly researched area of audio technology, the mantra is implementation, implementation, implementation. How a converter’s components are selected, tweaked and assembled according to a specific design, and then tuned for superior performance within that plan is what sets a converter apart – for better or worse. The Dangerous CONVERT-2 has been developed by a team of experts with deep, up-to-the-minute knowledge of digital and analog converter technology. Fine Tuning The Analog Side
A legend among mixing and mastering engineers for decades, Chris Muth has designed the analog gear used to mix and master an endless list of hit records and classic reissues. Chris’s powerful, articulate, hi-fi designs dominated the big studios in New York City since the 80s, and via Dangerous his designs have become essential components in the best modern DAW-based mixing and mastering studios. When Dangerous set out to develop a new dedicated stereo DAC, Chris brought his relentless design philosophy and world-renowned sound to the CONVERT’s analog technology. Not only did he develop the audiophile-grade analog audio path, Chris also meticulously fine tuned the low-pass reconstruction filters mandatory to implementing any DAC. These filters lie at the heart of how a converter will perform, and the CONVERT series has the jaws of top pros hitting the floor when they hear the big natural sound and the powerful, ultra-clear low-end. Perfecting The Digital Side
Dangerous brought in digital guru Paul Messick to make sure the digital side of the CONVERT-2 would sing in perfect harmony with its finely tuned analog circuit. Paul rigorously refined the CONVERT’s JetPLL ultra-low jitter clocking technology until it surpassed the JET’s stated specs, resulting in the virtual elimination of jitter throughout the audio band and beyond. Gone are the sonic headaches and end-of-day fatigue brought on by long-term exposure to jittery digital audio systems. The CONVERT-2’s superbly implemented digital technology delivers such a natural, open and non-irritating sound that you’ll forget you’re even listening to converted 0s and 1s. Detailed Information & Delightful Inspiration
Reaching beyond transparency and accuracy, the sound of the CONVERT-2 is so open and 3-dimensional that many are saying that these are the most beautiful, natural sounding converters they’ve ever heard. Whether your focus is tracking, mixing or mastering, when you choose a dedicated stereo DAC, you’re choosing the unit you’ll trust to make all your sonic judgments, from choosing a mic to deciding how much limiting to use in mastering. You need your DAC to be honest, but you also need it to sound beautiful. With the CONVERT you get the uncanny combination of detailed information and delightful inspiration. Features

THE MOST ADVANCED STEREO A-D ON THE MARKET 5 INNOVATIVE FEATURES YOU DIDN’T KNOW YOU NEEDED INNOVATION #1—SWITCHABLE DUAL INPUTS INNOVATION #2—PROPRIETARY CLIP GUARD TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION #3—ZOOMABLE METERS INNOVATION #4—SWITCHABLE TRANSFORMERS INNOVATION #5—EMPHASIS CONTROL SOUND YOU CAN TRUST AND LOVE SUPERIOR DIGITAL IMPLEMENTATION JITTER ELIMINATION TECHNOLOGY—JET UNSURPASSED ANALOG EXCELLENCE FEATURES Adjustable Sample Rate lets you cycle through 6 sample rates for universal compatibility with other devices
If you thought analog-to-digital converter innovation had taken a snooze, Dangerous Music is about to wake you up with five game-changing innovations. Packed into a single rack space with our next-generation conversion for the ultimate in musicality and transparency, the CONVERT-AD+ is the most advanced stereo analog-to-digital converter on the market.
The CONVERT-AD+ has no fewer than five—five!—features previously never seen on an analog-to-digital converter before. Smart, useful, well-executed innovations put Dangerous Music on the map, and we continue that tradition into the 21st century with the CONVERT-AD+.
Simple, elegant, intelligent. With the push of a button, you can switch between any two balanced line input sources. With zero fuss, you can instantly compare different mastering chains, test your mix against a reference, or to switch between recording and mixing mode—or use the inputs in any configuration you dream up. From the largest mix rooms, to elite mastering suites, to your home studio, the switchable inputs on the CONVERT-AD+ is about to make everyone’s life a lot easier.
Imagine driving straight past a cop at 110mph and showing only 55mph on the radar gun. That’s what mixing, mastering, and tracking with Clip Guard is like. The CONVERT-AD+ employs a proprietary technology that simply removes all clipping from your digital prints, but it never changes the sound—even when you’re clipping the converter on purpose for tonal artifacts. Today’s digital playback platforms (iTunes, Spotify, etc.) have filters (like highway cops) that scan for clipped masters and reject and/or attenuate them. Now you can clip your A-D converter to your heart’s content and never face the consequences.
In most circumstances, the dynamics of a mix or master reside in the zone between the average and the peak levels. With our meter zooming technology, you can zoom in on just the top 10dB of dynamic activity, allowing you a fine-grained look at what that matters most when mixing and mastering. An incredibly helpful tool for nuanced crafting of dynamics, you’ll soon wonder how you ever lived without zoomable meters.
It’s no secret that a pair of transformers at the end of a mixing or mastering chain can give your final prints added heft, character and articulation. With the CONVERT-AD+, just push a button and you’ve got a pair of Hammond transformers wired in series, ready to do that magic that transformers do. Hammond is a Canadian company with over 100 years of transformer design, and our circuit brings out all the bold colors.
Our analog designer Chris Muth did it again, taking his deep and esoteric knowledge of what engineers love and turning it into a simple and effective tool. When the transformers are switched in, the Emphasis kicks in a proprietary EQ/compression combo that brings a whole pallet of different colors to your mixing, mastering, and tracking work. Simply dial in the right amount, or none at all, until the smiles in the room get wider. In most cases, you’ll notice a stronger low end footprint and a gentle saturation on the mids and highs. The more you play with it, the more you’ll learn how Emphasis can improve your music.
Previously an oxymoron, musical transparency makes perfect sense now that Dangerous Music has pushed its products to the bleeding edge of today’s technology. We deliver an open, full-bodied sound free of unwanted artifacts (transparency) with a bold and big three-dimensional sound (musicality). The result is sound that you can trust and love.
Among those who truly understand this hotly debated area of audio technology, the mantra with digital is implementation, implementation, implementation. How components are selected, tweaked and assembled according to a specific design, and then tuned for superior performance within that plan, is what sets a converter apart – for better or worse. The Dangerous Music CONVERT-AD+ has been developed by a team of experts with deep, up-to-the-minute knowledge of the best digital and analog converter technology available today. Our implementation has even managed to get the clock working better than it’s stated specs.
JET is a patented clocking technology that Dangerous Music employs in order to reduce jitter to the point where it simply isn’t a factor impacting the sound of our converters. Whenever zeros and ones are flying by at incredible speeds, a solid clock and balanced data stream management system is of the utmost importance to articulate, musical, 3D impact. Do not shy away from using the CONVERT-AD+ as your studio’s master clock, a choice more and more engineers are making since becoming “converts.”
Our analog designer, Chris Muth, has designed the gear used on an endless list of hit records and classic reissues. Chris’s powerful, articulate, hi-fi designs dominated the big studios in New York City since the 80s, and via Dangerous his designs have become essential components in the best modern DAW-based mixing and mastering studios. When we set out to develop the CONVERT-AD+, Chris brought his relentless design philosophy and world-renowned sound to a whole new level. The entire CONVERT series has the jaws of top pros hitting the floor when they hear the big natural sound, the powerful, ultra-clear low-end, and the wide open high-end.

To survive in this modern day audio jungle, the contemporary studio must be lithe and agile; a facility that can adapt to any workflow: effortlessly. Tracking, mixing and mastering services oftentimes must be performed under one roof, utilizing every particle of outboard gear available. Features
Application Examples
The Dangerous LIAISON realizes this dream by providing unprecedented access to your outboard equipment. Connect up to six of your favorite two channel units to the LIAISON (more if you daisy chain, leverage a patch bay or add a Dangerous Master). Instantly audition any device or combination, change the order, dial in some parallel processing and then store these customized signal paths as presets to use again, on demand, anytime. True hard-wire bypass relays remove the gear entirely from the signal path; this includes outboard that lacks an integrated bypass or true hard-wire bypass. Mastering grade components switch instantly and silently, providing true A/B comparisons without coloration or latency. Pre and post-processing monitor outputs make it simple to audition between the original source and the treated product.
The A and B buss paths aren’t just for comparing signal paths. They can be strung together in series. For example, if your favorite EQ (the BAX of course) is connected at 1 and a limiter is connected at 5, selecting 5 from Buss A and 1 from Buss B reverses their order.
Parallel Processing allows the original and effected signals to be blended independently. For example: crush the drums with heavy compression for tight, explosive impact, while mixing in the original to retain transients and dynamics.

- Controles repetibles

The Dangerous SOURCE provides the critical link between your ears and the music. Every tracking and mixing decision hinges upon what you hear: how to locate the microphone’s sweet spot for the perfect vocal, where to place the panning to define each instrument’s space, creating the perfect marriage of kick and bass in the track… Plug in two pairs of headphones and get inspired-serious amplification to turn up your creative heat. Select any of the four sources individually or at the same time- plug your iPod into AN2 and jam along in AN1. Listen to any combination of sources from either section. For example, let the singer hear their own personal headphone mix from the AN2 input, while you engineer the real mix, coming from the USB input. There’s even a line level control room output, mirroring the speaker selector for dubbing, sampling or running external meters. Switch between two sets of speakers... or use one output for a subwoofer... or play them both at once to blow up the neighborhood. Built for life on the road, slide the SOURCE into your backpack and hit the streets. Features:
